Kamptal - millions of years young

The Kamptal belongs to one of Europe’s oldest geological and historical regions, with a history of one billion years and human inhabitation for over 30,000 years. Kamptal gets its name from the river Kamp, which flows directly through it, and is also home of famous wine villages such as Langenlois, Straß im Straßertale, Zöbing as well as others. With a vineyard area of more than 3,800 hectares, Kamptal is one of the most successful wine regions in Austria, and boasts a high proportion of outstanding, quality wine producers. Culture and tourism also play a significant role.

"Districtus Austriae Controllatus" - The controlled origin stands for high quality wine.

The Kamptal DAC certifies that wines are made from Grüner Veltliner or Riesling in two styles, a classic styled medium-bodied wine KAMPTAL DAC and a rich, elegant dry KAMPTAL DAC RESERVE style. The distinctiveness of the wines is not self-evident. Even though climate and soil make a significant contribution, a lot of aptitude, sensitiveness and love towards the vine is necessary to achieve the utmost quality in the wine. The mission of the regional wine board is to define this as a standard for the region. A core issue of the board is to establish a regional wine type with clear profile of the Kamptal.
