Grüner Veltliner Eiswein

Grüner Veltliner Eiswein

Grape VarietyGrüner Veltliner
LocationThe name „Hasel“ was bestowed on this vineyard by wine growers many generations ago, after the numerous hazelnut shrubs to be found in the area. The soil is a result of the dry, cold climate of the Ice Age. Due to the effect of glaciers (high pressure), stone such as quartz, limestone, mica and clay particles were pulverized. These loess soils retain deep reservoirs of moisture. The heart of this vineyard is the “Middel-Hasel”, with a gentle incline to the south. It is here that the strongest, thickest vines thrive - very ripe Grüner Veltliner and Burgundy wines with a harmonious combination of power, richness, distinct fruit and elegance.
VinificationHarvested at -12; pressed for 7 hours, 3 month fermentation
TasteinfoBrilliant golden yellow, very typical varietal character on the nose; dense with notes of caramel and spice; dainty wooden nuances reveal traces of spice, clove cinnamon. Gorgeously focused and clean. white pepper, lively structure, ideal for long term storage
